Cincinnati Newsletter May 2020

May 18, 2020 | by Salvation Army Greater Cincy

Welcome to the first newsletter of The Salvation Army Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky! Here, every month, we’ll share inspirational stories and highlights of the work we do, all powered by your generosity.
Did you know that the Salvation Army is celebrating 135 years of serving the Cincinnati community? Over the years we have provided food, shelter and emotional and spiritual support to those in need.
Right now, we are experiencing unprecedented requests for our assistance. And because of you, people in need can count on us to do everything we can to provide help in our community.  We couldn’t do this without the generous and compassionate support of individuals, families and businesses who bless us with the support and funds to carry out our mission. Thank you for everything you do to help us meet needs in His name.

COVID-19 Response

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in unprecedented requests for assistance. We expect the need to grow over the coming weeks, months, and potentially years. This infographic shows how we have responded to this need so far.

Joining Forces with the Ohio State Patrol

What do you do with families who need food assistance but because of health or other circumstances, can’t pick it up at the food pantry? In Batavia, Lieutenant Brittany Bender dropped off food to those folks at the end of a long workday. Then she got a call from the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an offer to assist. OHSP now handles those deliveries three days a week. To learn more about this inspiring partnership, watch this story on WKRC.

How You Can Help Join the Fight
Against Hunger

Thousands of families are facing food insecurity, many for this first time. To help meet these increasing needs, we created a virtual food drive. Your generosity goes right to the front lines in the fight against hunger. Go here to donate.
