Bundle Them Up! WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up Online Auction Returns
PITTSBURGH (March 4, 2024) – Bid, buy, and bundle them up by participating in WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up Annual Online Auction beginning Friday, March 15 through Friday, April 5, 2024. All proceeds from this auction will help The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division and WTAE-TV keep children and seniors warm this winter. Starting Friday, March 15, visit projectbundleup.org or wtae.com and follow the prompts to check out the unique items up for grabs through Greater Giving, a digital auction platform.
“We are grateful for our continued partnership with WTAE in helping provide NEW coats, gloves, hats, scarves and boots to those who need it most in our community,” Major Gregory Hartshorn, Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania, said. “The annual online auction is one of this initiative’s largest sources of income. Every bid and every donation ensures a child or older adult will be able to face the harsh winter with dignity and warmth. Join us and make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors in need across Western Pennsylvania.”
The annual auction will be packed with hundreds of must-have items and unforgettable experiences. New items will be posted every Friday at noon throughout the span of the online auction! Bid on one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia including a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey signed by future hall of famer Sidney Crosby and an autographed commemorative helmet signed by multiple Pittsburgh Steelers. The auction will feature unique experiences like passes to the Sloth Encounter at the National Aviary, tickets to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, as well as gift certificates to local restaurants and area golf courses. Tech gear and home goods will also be up for auction including Beats Studio3 Headphones, Costway pizza oven, a Fitbit Versa 4 and a Shark ION Robot. All items and experiences have been donated by generous sponsors, organizations and individuals. A special thanks to our major event sponsors KeyBank, Peoples, FedEx Ground, Target, Walmart and UPMC.
“We are proud to continue this partnership with The Salvation Army year-after-year,” Charles W. Wolfertz III, President & General Manager of WTAE Channel 4 said. “This auction is a chance to score great deals while having a positive impact on our community. Our work would not be possible without our amazing viewers! Thank you for the ongoing support each year.”
The annual online auction is one of the primary ways that WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up raises funds. During the 2022-23 winter season, WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up provided coats, boots, gloves and hats for nearly 5,000 children and seniors. Since its inception in 1986, WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up has raised $17 million, providing more than 305,000 children and seniors with NEW winter outerwear across Western Pennsylvania.
