EVENT INFORMATION

The annual WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up Online Auction remains one of the largest sources of event income. The 400 items donated are displayed and promoted online for three weeks in March and April.

Since 1997, participants have enjoyed a fun game of golf with a Pittsburgh Steeler and WTAE-TV personalities. The Golf Classic is a fun golf event with dinner/dessert, silent auction, challenges, prizes, and a chance to win golfing with the Steelers host for one hour! Past hosts include Coach Bill Cowher, Heath Miller, Arthur Moats, Stephon Tuitt, Benny Snell and Zach Gentry.

The Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkin Festival features the Pumpkin Drop every year. A 2,000-lb pumpkin drops from 100 feet into a pool filled with numbered ping-pong balls, and the ball that bounces the furthest wins a prize! Project Bundle-Up sells numbered balls for $10 each. Over 50,000 people attend this free event. Ping-pong sales begin four weeks prior and continue at the event. All proceeds go to WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up.

WTAE-TV hosts its annual project Bundle-Up Telethon for a chance to thank, educate, and engage potential donors. The telethon provides the perfect platform to reach communities throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Wind, rain, sleet, or snow, nearly 1,000 individuals meet annually on the Mon Wharf and take the Pittsburgh Polar Bear Club Plunge. A New Year’s Day tradition in Pittsburgh… “Freezin’ for a reason.” The Pittsburgh Polar Bear Club and attendees jump into the Monongahela River and support WTAE’s project Bundle-Up.
