Pumpkin Drop to benefit The Salvation Army’s and WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up

Oct 11, 2022

PITTSBURGH (October 11, 2022) - WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up is excited to once again join the Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins Festival for the popular annual Pumpkin Drop. On Saturday, October 15, 2022, a 2,000-pound pumpkin will drop 100 feet into a pool filled with water and ping-pong balls.

After the big boom, the ping-pong balls will scatter across the area and the ball that has traveled the farthest will be announced as the winner. The grand prize package is a Smart Home starter kit that includes a Ring Doorbell, Blink Security Cameras and Amazon devices and accessories.

Proceeds from the purchase of ping-pong balls will benefit WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up, which provides new winter outwear – including coats, hats, gloves and boots – for children and senior citizens throughout Western Pennsylvania. Visit projectbundleup.org for more information.
