Correctional Services

The Salvation Army helps men and women change their lives.

The Salvation Army ministers to the incarcerated who for whatever reasons have made inappropriate choices that have landed them in correctional institutions.

Family Ministry

The Salvation Army ministers to the families of the incarcerated by providing spiritual guidance, supportive counseling, and material assistance. This is accomplished by helping families to know and utilize community resources and by providing character building programs for children along with other practical services. Families are encouraged to attend and participate in regular worship services and Christian education programs.

How we minister to those in prison:

 Jail/Prison Visitation

Volunteers from The Salvation Army of New Brunswick Corps visit inmates to share the word and provide counsel. For more information, please contact:

 New Brunswick Corps: 732-545-1477

Bible Correspondence

The Salvation Army conducts Bible correspondence as a Christian education program with inmates and their families. For more information, please contact:

The Salvation Army Correctional Services Bureau: 845-620-7386

Community Service Sites

A number of Salvation Army Corps have been designated as community service sites where individuals "on probation" have been remanded by the courts to provide community service. Please call the Salvation Army facility nearest to you to determine if it's such a site.
