The Salvation Army prays that God would be with the family of George Floyd.

A statement from Lt. Col. Dan Jennings, Northern Division Commander, after the George Floyd verdict

The Salvation Army prays that God would be with the family of George Floyd, bringing them comfort, strength, and peace. Mr. Floyd was a member of The Salvation Army family, and his murder was devastating for those he worked with and served.

The Salvation Army recognizes the historic impact of racial inequity, and we hope that we are now on a path to healing in our community and across the country. Racism is fundamentally incompatible with God’s love for all people, and we are steadfastly against violence toward any of His children. The Salvation Army’s responsibility is to be a loving example of Christ, and we are committed to providing a safe place for those in need without discrimination. Our arms, doors, and hearts are open to all.
