Youth Programs

The Salvation Army ensures kids are equipped with the tools they need to succeed, which starts by meeting their basic needs.

We take a holistic approach by providing programs with life-long impact such as character-building programs, summer camp opportunities, sports activities, music education, after-school tutoring, mentorship and more. At the core of all that we do for youth, fighting for them is synonymous with sharing God's love and grace.

Program Camp (July 25-29)

How we help empower youth:

Summer Camps

For many kids, summer camp is the first time they will see the world outside of their neighborhood. Each year, we enable thousands of children from low-income families to enjoy fresh air, exercise, and new friendships through our annual summer camp programs. This camping experience is more than just a few days away from home. Here, children learn new skills and self-reliance. Trained counselors, who understand their emotional needs, help them mature and grow. Camp activities include learning to swim, scouting, arts and crafts, music development, and sports. Learn about Camp Ladore.

Day Camps

Many parents do not always feel comfortable sending their children to overnight camp. Day is the best option and alternative to still have kids enjoy their summer. Each year, we open our doors to children to enjoy fun sports, arts and crafts trips through our day camp program. This day camp is an opportunity to keep your children active for a month. Trained counselors, who understand their emotional needs, help them mature and grow. Registration is now open! Call today (215) 474-1010 for an application.

Dance, Art and Music

The arts are being cut from schools facing budget restraints or treated as an elective. We disagree. Music, dance, and art are crucial for youth development and enrichment. Our diverse programs offer instrument training, painting, drama, dance, poetry, and more. Music activities are held Wednesdays from 4:00 to 7:30 PM.

Children Leadership

The Salvation Army Girl Sunbeam (grades 1-5) and Girl Guard (grades 6-12) programs emphasize discipleship, evangelism, and the development of life skills. They offer opportunities for building relationships with the youth who are members of the program as well as unique opportunities for presenting the gospel.

The Salvation Army Adventure Corps is a character-building program designed for boys in grades one through eight. Its purpose is to assist boys in developing their individuality and potential.

Learning Zone

We bring children into an environment where learning continues long after the bell rings. The Salvation Army operates after-school programs to give kids a safe place to play, do homework, and pursue extracurricular goals. During a time where they could otherwise be at risk, we open our doors to kids for growth in literacy, sports, arts, music, and more. The program is Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. For more details call (215) 474-1010
