You provide Love Beyond Hunger
No one should be forced to choose between putting food on the table or having other necessities like heat, water, or a warm place to sleep.
Sadly, many of our neighbors are forced to make these tough choices due to the rising cost of living. To make matters worse, the emergency benefits allotted under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recently expired, affecting more than 2.8 million New Yorkers.
As a result, more families in our community are turning to The Salvation Army for assistance than ever before. In many cases, that number tops 500 people a day – more than double the number from a year ago.
They’re neighbors like Thomas, who came to us with his two grandsons. His family had never needed to ask for food before. But, faced with the double whammy of high costs and reduced SNAP benefits, Thomas was forced to ask for help.
Your generosity provided a lifeline to Thomas and his grandkids. You enable The Salvation Army to help families like his through our food pantries, community meal programs, and other emergency feeding services.
During these difficult times, you offer hope to neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. Thank you for putting food on the table for people like Thomas, his grandsons, and so many others like them. Your kindness is a blessing.
