"Hungry" is no way to spend childhood

Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

In the economic wake of COVID-19, many in our community found themselves unable to work and left deciding whether to pay their rent or put food on the table. We are proud to stand in the gap and say that no one should ever go hungry while we have so much to offer.

How we help cure hunger

We have multiple programs aimed at addressing hunger in our community. Depending on your situation, the following may be right for you to utilize or support.

Our Daily Bread

Thanks to regular donations from Ried’s Food Barn, we are able to offer a variety of items to anyone in need. Often bread is available, and occasionally sweets, dairy, and meats are also included. Everything is first come, first served. There is no application or identification required to make use of Our Daily Bread.

Emergency Food Pantry

Our food pantry is meant to supplement the benefits offered around the community. If you find yourself running a few days short between EBT benefits, or trying to make ends meet until a larger pantry distributes, come see us Tuesdays from 10AM-12:00PM or Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10AM-2PM. An application is required. You will need to bring identification for all persons in the household, proof of your income, and proof of Cattaraugus County residency to be served by our pantry.

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Identification for everyone in the household
  • Proof of Income (Pay Stubs, Award Letters, etc.)
  • Proof of Cattaraugus County Residency
