through gifts that serve the body, mind, and soul.

Every year, parents must choose between giving their children gifts or paying bills. Individuals facing poverty often spend the holidays without the warmth of a shared meal or even a support system.

The holidays bring added financial and emotional stress to families and individuals living in poverty. From gifts for children in need to special meals for those who would otherwise go without fellowship on the holidays and meeting other basic needs - we aim to bring joy back into the season.

Thanksgiving & Christmas Assistance

The Newburyport Salvation Army corps provides assistance with food and Christmas gifts for kids 14 and under to
residents of Newburyport, Newbury, West Newbury, Byfield, Amesbury and Salisbury.

Holiday Assistance Programs:

Thanksgiving Meal Kit: Kits include provisions for an entire Thanksgiving meal; turkey, 8 sides, dessert, drinks & breakfast

Christmas Toy Shop: Caregivers shop for their children ages 0-14yrs in our large toy shop

Christmas Meal Kit: Kit includes provisions for an entire Christmas meal; ham, 8 sides, dessert, drink, & Breakfast

Adopt A Family: Pairs families with a sponsor to “adopt” that family with gifts for all members of the household

Senior Christmas Care Package: Seniors receive a holiday cheer basket filled with snacks, small gifts, and slippers

Free Fresh Christmas Trees at Spencer Peirce Farm: Applicants receive a voucher to pick-up a free Fresh Christmas tree Spencer Peirce Farm
