New Hamiltonians Leading the Salvation Army Serving Mercer County

Sep 25, 2020 | by TAPinto

From TAPinto: Alan and Isabella met through their work with the Salvation Army when they were based in Queens, New York.  They will soon welcome the newest resident of Hamilton – a baby girl due at the end of the year.

“We have a family in the Salvation Army.  We fall in the love with the people we serve and make strong relationships,” said Alan.

The Porchettis already have begun working with the volunteers based out of Trenton Corps.  The “volunteers are a big help” but the need for Salvation Army programs is increasing as “more people are feeling confident about coming out” to seek services. The Corps is helping Mercer County residents who have lost jobs in the pandemic and are falling behind on paying rent and paying utilities.
