Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

The Salvation Army’s approach to feeding the hungry is formed based on the local needs of each community we serve.

  • Those in need can get nutritious, hot meals or groceries from their nearest Salvation Army Service and Worship Center.
  • We feed thousands daily, including the most vulnerable of our communities — underserved children in our after-school programs, forgotten friends at our homeless shelters, people looking to better their lives at our addiction recovery facilities, survivors rebuilding their lives after a disaster, domestic violence and anti-human trafficking victims.
  • Salvation Army food pantries provide groceries for families and individuals in need. Food is free, but some locations require appointments, others are on a walk-in first come first serve basis.

Hot Meal Programs and Food Pantries

At our main facility located at 560 Wooster Rd Barberton, OH 44203 we provide food, on an emergency basis, Monday-Friday by appointment. Referrals are made by Info Line which is a centralized intake process for Barberton. Information on eligibility is available at (330) 745-2836. Families and individuals are able to select their own food choices to meet their specific household needs. Photo ID required, proof of address, last 4 digits of social security number and birthdates of everyone in the household are needed.

Direct Distribution

Our Market Place is a collaborative program with the Akron-Canton Foodbank. This Direct Distribution of Food program—open to anyone--is Located at our building 560 Wooster Road West Barberton, Ohio 44203, and is held the 4th Friday of the month (except December). Doors open at 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. ID is required.

Community Table

A hot meal is served daily Monday through Friday 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at our Barberton facility (560 Wooster Road). Open to all. Closed on holidays.
