We fight poverty with love

By providing programs that serve the body, mind and soul, The Salvation Army helps alleviate the symptoms of poverty - and works to address the root issues that cause it.

WE FIGHT FOR GOOD.

According to census data, there are 163,947 residents in Licking County, of those, 20, 271 are living below the poverty level. Of those 20, 271, 28.3 % are children 0-17, and 16.8% are adults 60+. It is our mandate to help those that are suffering, The Salvation Army Newark, Ohio Corps served 89,654 meals during the October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019 fiscal year.  Our Emergency Shelter Services sheltered 807 people offering 13,386 nights of safety during the October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019 fiscal year.

With 'heart to God and hand to man,' The Salvation Army strives to meet the basic needs of all who come seeking help. Taking immediate care of the basic human needs of food, shelter, clothing and safety is an important first step in the development of a more positive and permanent life change in the people we help.

 Emergency Shelter

We have a 50-bed emergency shelter with Men’s, Women’s, and Family wings. Please call for details and requirements. Other case management services also available to the residents. The Emergency Shelter is open 24/7, our staff does intakes in the afternoons beginning at 3:00 pm. Please call for documentation requirements 740-345-8120.
