Discount Drug Mart Supports The Salvation Army’s Relief Efforts Following Hurricane Helene
Cleveland (October 11th, 2024) –Thanks to the generosity of corporate partner Discount Drug Mart, The Salvation Army will continue to serve families and individuals impacted by last week's Category 4 Hurricane Helene, which affected multiple states, including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Discount Drug Mart has generously donated 18 pallets of water, totaling over 36,000 bottles, to The Salvation Army for distribution in North Carolina.
“We are extremely appreciative of the work The Salvation Army continues to do to support our neighbors in need in and around North Carolina,” said Discount Drug Mart Director of Retail Store Administration, Bruce Wasem. “Community organizations like The Salvation Army are critical resources for businesses like Discount Drug Mart to identify effective ways to contribute in times of crisis.”
The Salvation Army is providing water, food, cleaning supplies, and spiritual care to families and individuals in the affected areas of Hurricane Helene. Since the Hurricane, The Salvation Army has distributed 330,042 hot meals, 35,222 meal kits, and 170,560 drinks (including water) and provided emotional and spiritual care support to 27,283 people.
