Caring for Seniors

Adult Day Services Program & Lending Library

One of our top needs identified through our Fairfield County assessment is caring for seniors.

Lending Library

To provide care for seniors who need support, we maintain a Lending Library, which is a stock of medical equipment (such as wheelchairs and walkers) that can be lent out to those who need to borrow equipment.

The Adult Day Services Program at The Samaritan Center provides an affordable alternative to nursing home or assisted living placement for those adults who require assistance and supervision with daily activities. The goal of the center is to “Change how you live, not where you live.” Our mission is to provide a safe and protective environment for adults and elderly who need socialization, supervision and assistance during the day.

Personal funding is often available through Medicare, Passport, Veterans Affairs and the United Way of Fairfield County. Since the Center is the only one of its kind in the area, it is open to residents of Fairfield County, and also and surrounding counties of Hocking and Perry County.

WHAT DO OUR SERVICES INCLUDE?

  • A full activity schedule offers social interaction, exercise, crafts, games, musical guests, educational presentations, gardening, special field trips and much more.
  • We offer an individual plan of care that addresses personal strengths, needs and interests.  Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon snacks, are provided, and provisions can be made for special dietary needs.
  • Program hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with flexible hours available to meet your needs.
  • Transportation can be provided.
