Social Ministries – Food & Basic Needs Image

Social Ministries – Food & Basic Needs

Through our social ministries, The Salvation Army in Fairfield County meets daily with those who come seeking various forms of assistance – their needs are often basic. For those members of our community who can’t quite make ends meet on their own, we provide food assistance, clothing vouchers and/or utility assistance. We manage their cases individually, as we seek opportunities to enrich their lives and empower them to become self-sufficient.

Services to families and individuals are provided regardless of race, creed, color, sex, religious affiliation or age, consistent with the mission of The Salvation Army. Clients may be self-referred or referred by agencies, friends, relatives or other interested parties. Services are available for residents of Fairfield County, and walk-ins for assistance are accepted Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

CHOICE FOOD PANTRY

Our Choice Food Pantry is stocked with a variety of non-perishable food staples to help those in need in our community provide reliable, nutritious meals for their families. Fairfield County residents can come to the food pantry Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and select the items of their choice from the pantry.

Eligibility: Requirements to obtain food from the pantry are to show proof of residency in Fairfield County and demonstration of income.

PRODUCE DAYS

We host a Produce Day every second, fourth and fifth (if applicable) Wednesday of the month for Fairfield County residents who struggle to make ends meet. Various produce items along with baked goods are available for distribution from 9:30-12:30 a.m. from our W. Hubert Ave location.

Eligibility: The only requirement to obtain food during a Produce Day is to show proof of residency in Fairfield County.
