The Salvation Army has changed lives and given hope to countless people throughout the nation. But it never does it alone.
The Salvation Army relies heavily on volunteers support of its programs. Often referred to a “the army behind The Army," volunteers play a crucial role in The Salvation Army's ability to provide quality social services for the entire community.
We greatly value our volunteers who ring bells during our Red Kettle season (November and December). In 2023, we are striving for 100% volunteers so that all the possible proceeds can go to our community programs. Volunteer to ring bells as an individual or as a group.
The Salvation Army needs Volunteers to help assist those in need to shop for their children as well as restocking and organizing the toy tables or other necessary duties associated with The Toy Shop ministry.
Our Kitchen prepares and serves meals daily to the homeless and anyone that comes to our door for the meal. Volunteers are always needed to assist with food preparation, plating, serving meals (cafeteria style) and general cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas. Our feeding program runs Monday through Friday from 11 am to 12:30pm.
Each week The Salvation Army runs youth character building and music program for children in 1st grade through 8th grade. If you have a special skill with music and would love to help underprivileged children learn to a new skill, please consider volunteering. Our youth programs help develop: Social & Communication Skills, Decision Making & Life Skills, and Character & Leadership Through a Biblical worldview by encouraging: A sense of Personal Identity, Christian Values with Biblical Principles, and Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Social Development.
Did you know that The Salvation Army Family Store that we know today began as William Booth's vision of a "Household Salvage Brigade" that would collect unwanted materials from people's homes and sell them at a reduced cost to help the poor? Our Family Store does just that and with your help of gently used donations, we can continue to serve our community with reduced cost clothing, furniture, and a plethora of other items. Salvation Army Family Stores help generate funds for the countless programs and services which help our community's most vulnerable citizens. Our goal is to aid this mission by providing an excellent retail experience with regular sales, special store events and community outreach initiatives.
