Celebrate the Holidays at the 2024 Red Kettle Kickoff
Are you ready for the holiday season? The Salvation Army is!
Every year, The Salvation Army, Greater Philadelphia hosts the Red Kettle Kickoff: a community celebration that launches our most well-known street fundraising campaign. The iconic Red Kettle has been a powerful symbol for over 150 years, most often associated with the sounds of joyful bellringing that take over street corners and business fronts around our city.
While many of us will spend the season attending parties and searching for the perfect gift for friends and loved ones, this campaign is a reminder that the holidays can be a challenging time for those facing financial hardship – many of whom must choose between giving their children gifts or paying their bills. With the community’s support, The Salvation Army provides warm meals, shelter, toys for children, and other gifts that make a real difference for families in need.
This year on Saturday, November 23rd, The Salvation Army will return to Love Park for the opening weekend of the Christmas Village. Hosted by the local young professional chapter of Echelon, the event promises fun games and prizes, pictures with mascots, appearances from local news stations and government officials as well as a VIP reception to celebrate our most generous community partners.
