Adults in need make up the biggest group we serve

Through programs designed to address the mind, body and soul, we meet the needs of adults of all ages.

Our programs are specialized to help heal the mind, body, and soul for adults in every stage of life.

We seek to be a leader in evangelism, ministry and service for older adults, to address changing needs and engage in significant roles of service. We partner with adults by connecting them with tools and resources to help them through any life struggle. Our services including older adult centers which provide educational, spiritual, and skill-based programs. There is help for veterans, community care ministries for those who are homebound or hospitalized, counseling, and more. We give people a whole army of support, so they are not alone.

The Salvation Army gives adults and seniors a toolkit for success through:

Activities for Older Adults

Engaging the minds and bodies of older adults (ages 55 and older) helps keep them young, active and happy. The Salvation Army Philadelphia Citadel Senior Program allows older adults to enjoy educational classes, kindle friendships over lunch, engage in chair exercise, and countless other activities every week Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM.

Volunteer Opportunities

Adults primarily make up our volunteer workforce. Do you want a place where you can help other people? Do you need a place to belong? No matter your age - whether working full time, between jobs, or retired - we have a place for you. Stop by your local Salvation Army to inquire about volunteer opportunities.

Spiritual Care and Counseling

We not only meet physical needs, we heal souls through our spiritual ministry by sharing the love of Jesus Christ and the promise of salvation. We want to help you explore what it means to have a personal relationship with God. Salvation Army Worship and Service Centers are a church home to many on Sundays, but we also offer men's and women's Bible studies during the week, group prayer meetings, pastoral counseling, and special group counseling for those facing similar hardships at our location.
