Register for Our Angel Tree

Every year, parents must choose between giving their children gifts or paying bills. Individuals facing poverty often spend the holidays without the warmth of a shared meal or even a support system.

The holidays can bring added financial and emotional stress to families and individuals living in poverty. From gifts for children in need to special meals for those who would otherwise go without fellowship on the holidays and meeting other basic needs - we aim to bring joy back into the season.

The Salvation Army helps to make
the holidays brighter:

Angel Tree

Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of children in our community. Register for our Angel Tree here or purchase a toy for a child through our Walmart and Amazon toy links.

Red Kettle

The Annual Red Kettle is our biggest fundraising event. We are always seeking volunteers and groups to ring bells at our iconic red kettles.

Holiday Meals

The Salvation Army helps bring people together for the holidays by providing everything needed for a traditional Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

Adopt-a-Family

In York, you can organize a group to adopt a family in need and help them have a more joyous Christmas celebration. The Adopt-a-Family Program serves a limited number of families who are experiencing extreme hardship during the Holiday Season. The common factor shared by all adopted families is their strong need for special care and extra assistance during Christmas.
