Spring and Summer Volunteer Opportunities
The warmer weather is (hopefully!) upon us which means it’s time to look toward the Spring and Summer seasons. The Salvation Army Buffalo has so many exciting events and volunteer opportunities coming up over the next several months which means there are so many ways for YOU to get involved.
Fundraising Events and Collections
We are excited to announce that this year’s Red Kettle Open Golf Tournament is Monday, June 6 at Lancaster Country Club! We are looking for a volunteer group of 10-12 people to help the day of the event from approximately 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
We are also excited to share that Buffalo’s Most Amazing Race is Saturday, July 30! We need 100 volunteers to help with different challenges throughout the City of Buffalo.
We will be hosting our Back to School Supply Collection from June 1 thru August 12, 2022. All donated supplies and backpacks will be given to children in need in our community. We are looking for people and organizations/businesses to host a collection as well as prepare the fully stocked backpacks.
Seminars and Celebrations
From April 18 – 22, we are hosting Adult Vacation Bible School at our 960 Main Street location. We are looking for a group of 10 volunteers each day from 9-2 p.m. to help with food prep and serving, hosting games and bingo and arts and crafts projects.
We will also be hosting a Mother’s Day Celebration (Thursday, May 5th) and Father’s Day Celebration (Thursday, June 16th) from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at our 960 Main Street location. Volunteers are needed to help serve/prepare food, host games and giveaways as well as other miscellaneous volunteer tasks.
