How we help equip families

The Salvation Army Buffalo Area Services helps to Equip Families with a number of our programs here at our 960 Main Street location. Programs such as our Emergency Family Assistance, to help with food, clothing, and other daily needs. Our Rapid Re-Housing program that helps to place individuals and families in stable, safe, and secure housing. Our Supervised Visitation Program that helps bring non-custodial parents back together with their children. Our Child Health Homes program that makes sure that each and every child who needs health care has access to it and our Pathway of Hope Program that helps break families out of the cycle of poverty.

Emergency Family Assistance
Emergency Family Assistance is a basic needs program whose primary focus is the provision of food to hungry individuals and families. Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30AM to 1:00PM.

Neighbor 4 Neighbor Heat Fund
This home-heating assistance grant program is available on a first-come, first-served basis and provides low-income Western New Yorkers with help to prevent disconnection of their service, pay current or past-due energy bills (excluding electric utilities), or purchase home heating fuel of any kind. Qualifying individuals or families may receive a one-time grant of up to $500 per program year.

Pathway of Hope
The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope initiative marks a pivotal shift from treating symptoms of poverty to addressing the epidemic at its root.  By helping families overcome barriers like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we can break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability, leading families to towards increased stability and, ultimately, self-sufficiency – a Pathway of Hope that will profoundly affect generations to come.

Erie County Rural Services
The Erie County Service Units are located in Akron, Angola, Eden, Holland, North Collins and Springville providing service to rural county residents. Service is available seven days per week, 24 hours per day.
