We fight poverty with love Image

We fight poverty with love

The Salvation Army helps alleviate the symptoms of poverty & works to address the root causes by providing programs that serve the mind, body and soul

How we help Equip Families

The Salvation Army of Scioto County offers a helping hand for those who need a little nudge.  Helping in a practical way is how we believe we do the most good.  The following programs are available to Scioto County residents who are in need of emergency assistance:

Rent Assistance

When you don’t know where the money for your next rent payment is coming from, check with your local Salvation Army to see if funding is available for rent assistance. This type of funding ebb and flows, but if we can help, we will.

To schedule an appointment, please call our office at 740-353-2400

Utility Assistance

During a long, cold winter, your heat bill swells and you receive a notice from your energy provider that all utilities will be disconnected unless you can pay the overdue balance. Or, maybe a job loss forced you to choose between paying rent or paying your electric bill. We can help.

To schedule an appointment, please call our office at 740-353-2400

Stabilization Mentoring & Pathway of Hope Parental Mentoring

We work with clients to skillfully prepare each person to meet the specialized needs and challenges of this population. We get to the heart of core needs, such as connecting clients with benefits, housing, classes, and job training, in order to regain self-sufficiency.

To schedule an appointment, please call our office at 740-353-2400
