Greater Pittsburgh Advisory Board Spotlight: Edgard Sucre

Jun 17, 2021 | by Stephanie Rex

Edgard Sucre’s connection with The Salvation Army began when his career did, as he was hired by the organization right out of college.

“I’ve been very fortunate in my career and it is important for me to give back to my community,” Sucre said. “This is also personal for me because The Salvation Army hired me out of college and helped get my career started. I always remember the people who helped me.”

A member of The Salvation Army Western PA Division’s Greater Pittsburgh Advisory Board since 2020, Ed currently works for AllianceRx Walgreens Prime as their Director of Accounting.

He wanted to get involved with The Salvation Army knowing that its programs, officers, and staff have given so many people hope right in his neighborhood.

“The most inspiring thing I have seen at The Salvation Army is the hard work behind the scenes that people put in, and seeing the impact it has in the community,” he said. “There will always be people in need, and it is good to know there will always be people at The Salvation Army who are willing to help.”

Ed lives with his wife, Francesca, and their two children, Nina, 9, and Antonio, 6, in Peters Township.
