(BUTLER, PA) June 24, 2021 – The Salvation Army Butler Worship and Service Center has received a $40,000 grant from Armstrong which will support critical services in the local community focusing on lifting our youth and teens.

The grant will directly support The Salvation Army Butler Worship and Service Center’s afterschool and homework program and will support feeding children during the afterschool program. In addition, it will be used to purchase items for a Teen drop-in and other children’s programs.

“The Salvation Army is incredibly grateful to Armstrong for this generous donation that will directly support our local community,” said Major Darlene Means, Commanding Officer, The Salvation Army Butler Worship and Service Center. “Our ability to raise funds over the past year has been greatly challenged due to the pandemic, so all gifts now matter more than ever. Armstrong is a loyal supporter of our services and their continued gifts will have a direct impact on youth and teens in need in Butler.”

Celebrating over 150 years of global service as both a church and a social service organization, The Salvation Army began in London, England in 1865.
