Calling All Crafters! The Salvation Army’s Spring Fabric Fair Returns April 13

Mar 7, 2024

PITTSBURGH (March 8, 2024) – The Salvation Army’s next Spring Fabric Fair is set for Saturday, April 13, 2024! The popular sale, made possible thanks to the dedication of The Salvation Army Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Auxiliary, will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 1:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, located at 1060 McNeilly Road.

For more than three decades, this fundraiser has offered bargains on rare fabrics, unique patterns and a variety of materials needed for crocheting, knitting, quilting and “sew” much more. This year, there is even more to explore before leaving! After shopping inside, attendees can enjoy a $10 bag sale outside which will be stocked with a variety of materials. Since its inception, the annual fabric fairs have raised nearly $750,000, with all proceeds providing critical assistance to struggling individuals and families throughout Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

“Members of the Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Auxiliary have worked tirelessly to build the fabric fairs into highly anticipated regional events, attracting hundreds of attendees in both the spring and the fall,” said Major Jodi Lloyd, Program Secretary for The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division. “These dedicated women pour their hearts into the cause week after week, meticulously sorting materials, measuring and cutting fabric and developing innovative displays. It is rewarding to see the crowds of crafters and creators of all ages come together for a good cause.”

Admission is free and complimentary parking will be available onsite, with free shuttles running from two satellite parking locations at Keystone Oaks High School and Keystone Oaks Middle School. Snacks and lunch items will also be available for purchase at the event. Carts and strollers are prohibited, reusable shopping bags are encouraged.

The Spring Fabric Fair is fueled by generosity and is only possible thanks to donations of all the items for sale. There is always a need for donated fabric and related items, as well as additional volunteers to measure and sort fabric in preparation for the fair. Fair donations are currently being accepted at The Salvation Army warehouse in Green Tree from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays (February through October) at the rear of 820 Parish Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. Please note, fabric donations will *not* be accepted during the actual Fabric Fair event.
