Calling All Creatives! The Salvation Army's Spring Fabric Fair Returns in April
PITTSBURGH (March 1, 2023) - The Salvation Army Greater Pittsburgh Women's Auxiliary is proud to announce the return of the Spring Fabric Fair on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, located at 1060 McNeilly Road in Pittsburgh. Crafters and creators are invited to the sale beginning 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 1:30 p.m.
For more than three decades, this popular fundraiser has offered bargains on elegant fabric, beautiful upholstery, yarns, notions and 'sew' much more! Since its inception, the annual Fabric Fair has raised more than $680,000, with all proceeds providing critical assistance to struggling individuals and families throughout Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
"Volunteers from our Women's Auxiliary work tirelessly throughout the year, collecting donations, measuring and cutting fabrics, pricing items and working out the logistics for this fundraiser," said Major Candy Fritsch, Divisional Secretary for Mission Engagement and Corps Revitalization for The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division. "Both our Spring and Fall Fabric Fairs would not be possible without their continued hard work and dedication."
The success of the Fabric Fair is also dependent on the donations of all the items for sale. Donated fabric and related items are always in need, as are additional volunteers to measure and sort fabric in preparation for the fair. Fair donations are currently being accepted at The Salvation Army warehouse in Green Tree from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays (February through October) at the rear of 820 Parish Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. Please note, fabric donations will *not* be accepted during the actual Fabric Fair event.
Attendees can expect to find great deals on rare fabrics, unique patterns and a variety of materials needed for crocheting, knitting, quilting and more. Free parking will be available on site and free shuttles will be provided from two satellite locations at Keystone Oaks High School and Keystone Oaks Middle School. Snacks and lunch items will also be available for purchase at the event. Carts and strollers are prohibited, reusable shopping bags are encouraged.
