Camp Allegheny Offers Job Opportunities for Young Adults Interested in Making a Difference, Sharing Faith

Ellwood City, PA (April 27, 2021) – Jonah has been attending The Salvation Army’s Camp Allegheny since the age of seven. Now 13 years old, some of his favorite memories include learning from his favorite camp counselors.

“One of my favorite memories of Camp Allegheny was being able to help at the sound booth and work with the AV Director, Mark. This has helped me learn many new skills that I still use to this day. Mark was cool, smart, and fun to hang around with!” Jonah said. “I love being at camp because I am able to meet new people. I look forward to meeting staff from all over the world and being able to learn about their cultures. I love being a camper at Camp Allegheny!”

The Salvation Army Western PA Division is hiring Camp Allegheny staff for various positions located in Ellwood City for the summer 2021 season who will be able impact kids like Jonah. 

Camp Allegheny offers low-cost, Christian-focused camping opportunities to children living in Western Pennsylvania. Camp Allegheny staff members exist to model Christ through servant-ministry, loving relationships and unforgettable experiences. As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, all CDC and American Camp Association safety guidelines will be strictly adhered to no matter the pandemic’s status this summer. The Salvation Army Western PA Division continues to monitor the public health crisis and will continue to make decisions that keep all employees and campers safe.

Available positions include: Senior Counselors, Music Counselors, Nature/STEM Director, Pioneering Director, Arts and Crafts Director, Audio Visual Director, Social Media and Photography Director, Climbing Wall Director, Archery Director, Riflery Director, Lifeguards, Kitchen and Housekeeping Staff, Dining Hall Supervisor, Nurse, Camp Driver, Maintenance Staff, Camp Registrar, and Staff Center Director.Training and certifications can be provided by in Lifeguarding, Archery, Riflery, Climbing Wall, ServSafe, and First Aid/CPR. Positions can be available as a paid internship opportunity for college students. 

Staff must be available to work in a residential camp setting from June 1 through July 31 (June 7 for Counselors) and must be at least 18 years old. Starting salary range of $2,300 - $2,600 with board and accommodations included. Work schedule runs Monday through Friday, with weekends off.
