Local parents and children will find the support they need for the new school year at The Salvation Army Chartiers Valley Service Center. Families with children from grades K-12 that live within the service area are welcome to drop by to receive new backpacks and supplies on a first come, first served basis.
No registration required. Please bring proof of residence in the following zip codes: 15017,15026, 15031, 15064, 15071, 15082, 15106,15126, 15142, 15220, 15242, 15244. Proof of residency includes mail from school, utility bill, etc.
Appointments are encouraged but not required. To make an appointment, call 412-276‐4757. Each child that receives a backpack will be eligible for a drawing for several prizes that will be announced September 3. Winners will be notified by phone.
Why
Many families throughout our community are facing increased financial challenges as the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic continues. The Salvation Army Western PA Division’s Back-to-School Assistance programs across 28 counties offer much-needed support in the form of backpacks, clothes, shoes, and more.
