Columbia Gas Partners with The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
PITTSBURGH (December 20, 2022) – The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division is grateful to corporate partner Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, a NiSource Company, for helping provide gifts to older children this Christmas through The Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
“It is amazing to see the generosity of our community year-after-year, especially during the season of giving,” Major Gregory Hartshorn, Divisional Commander, The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division said. “Every Angel Tree tag and monetary donation represents a memorable experience for a family in Western Pennsylvania. Thanks to our corporate partner Columbia Gas, we were able to fill in the gaps and make sure every child has a very Merry Christmas.”
Each year, through The Salvation Army Angel Tree program, children experience the joy of opening gifts on Christmas morning. However, older siblings in families often feel left behind in the process. Thanks to generous partners like Columbia Gas, The Salvation Army was able to meet this need and provide gifts to older children at Salvation Army locations located in Armstrong, Indiana, Jefferson, Mercer and McKean counties.
Economic pressures force thousands of parents across Western Pennsylvania to choose between paying rent/utilities and buying Christmas presents. Last season, The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division’s Angel Tree Program distributed more than 100,000 toys to children. Visit salvationarmywpa.org/angeltree for more information.
