The Salvation Army Oil City Dental Center Continues Dentist Recruitment
OIL CITY, PA (February 7, 2022) –The Salvation Army Western PA Division continues its search for a new full-time dentist to lead its Oil City Dental Center, which is urgently needed to continue serving nearly 9,000 vulnerable patients each year.
“Like many organizations across the nation, The Salvation Army is struggling to fill the full-time position of the dentist who will lead our Oil City Dental Center,” said Major Gregory Hartshorn, Divisional Commander, The Salvation Army Western PA Division. “This is a perfect position for a new dentist entering the workforce out of dental school as we are offering competitive salary and benefits, along with student loan forgiveness plan options for the candidate who will fill this position.”
Approximately 76 percent of The Salvation Army Oil City Dental Center patients are covered by Medicare/Medicaid and about 13 percent have no insurance at all. That means about 89% of dental center patients fall into these two vulnerable groups.
“We are working on all fronts to recruit a new dentist for our facility and that is why we are reaching out again today to our community,” Major Hartshorn said. “Without a new dentist, 9,000 people, including young children, in our region could go without the critical dental health care they need. It is our top priority to fill this position as soon as possible, so please reach out if you or someone you know is looking for a wonderful opportunity to serve others!”
