The Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship and Service Center Hosts FREE Dance for The World Pow Wow and Cultural Celebration

Lt. Tylar Melfi, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship and Service Center, Head Dancers David and Leeyah Wanner, Head Drum Thunder Nation; Emcee Aaron Stevens, families, and individuals from the Pittsburgh community.

What

The Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship and Service Center is hosting a “Dance for the World” fundraiser and pow wow, bringing the community together for a cultural celebration of unity. The Dance for the World will include cultural education & demonstration, delicious food, free children’s activities, arts & craft vendors, and the opportunity to win prizes. 

When

 Saturday, September 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Dancing begins at Noon

Where

Borough of Avalon Park, 708 New Brighton Road, Avalon, PA. This event is FREE and RSVP’s are encouraged: www.salvationarmywpa.org/DFTW

Why

All proceeds of this gathering support The Salvation Army’s World Services. This branch of the organization deals in social justice issues: human trafficking, poverty, starvation & emergency disaster services. This event works in support of the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women effort as we fight the epidemic levels of human trafficking that have swept the world.
