Equipping Students for Success: Annual Back-to-School Bash

 PITTSBURGH (July 15, 2024) – The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center will host a Back-to-School Bash for students in the South Hills on Saturday, August 3, 2024. During the annual event, presented by First National Bank (FNB), the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation, hundreds of backpacks, school supplies, gently used clothing and shoes will be distributed to local families. The bash will kick off at 10 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center located on McNeilly Road.

“Thanks to the support of First National Bank, this event has expanded each year,” Major Justin Caldwell, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, said. “We cannot wait to once again host this day of family fun and give students in our area the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.”

Assistance is open to all students entering grades K-12 living in ZIP code areas 15102, 15129, 15210, 15211, 15216, 15226, 15228, 15234, 15241 and 15243. Registration is required in advance by calling 412-207-2127. The deadline to register is Friday, July 26 and students must be present on the day of the event. Haircuts for students will also be available onsite along with food and fun family activities, including a bounce house.
