Fashion for Families: Runway RePurposed Reimagined Fundraiser
PITTSBURGH - The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division is proud to announce the return of Runway RePurposed, a fashion show fundraiser benefiting The Salvation Army’s Family Caring Center. This event is made possible thanks to the generosity of First National Bank. Kelly Dzanaj from 100.7 Star Pittsburgh and KDKA’s Talk Pittsburgh will serve as event emcee.
Join The Salvation Army on Wednesday, May 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center (1060 McNeilly Road). Runway RePurposed, formerly known as Garbage Bag Gala, brings fashion and fun together in one room—all while raising funds and awareness for The Salvation Army’s Family Caring Center. This newly reimagined show will feature designs from the next generation of fashion! College, high school and middle school students will be challenged to repurpose everyday items and vintage clothing, transforming them into one-of-a-kind wearable designs. Tickets and sponsorships are available on runwayrepurposed.org.
Runway RePurposed embodies the value that everyone and everything deserves a second chance to be something great! As our student designers provide a second chance to materials, the Family Caring Center provides a second chance to struggling families. The Family Caring Center accepts entire family units and offers a unique, family-focused program. The shelter serving the Pittsburgh area has 18 individual rooms with a total of 85 beds. The Family Caring Center allows men, women and children of all ages to remain together in a safe, secure environment with three meals a day and programming to help them get back on their feet.
