Indiana Create-A-Kettle Challenge Recruiting Local Schools to Compete in Fundraiser
INDIANA, Pa. (October 20, 2020) – Indiana County schools have the chance to Rescue Christmas for local families in need this year by participating in The Salvation Army’s Create-a-Kettle Challenge, organizing teams to raise funds for this year’s Red Kettle Campaign.
“Joining the Create-a-Kettle Challenge is easy, fun, and it’s all for a good cause,” said Lt. Candace Horsman, Commanding Officer of The Indiana Salvation Army. “Art students from each participating high school will decorate one of our provided tabletop kettles that will be placed in various community businesses from mid-November until the end of December. Your team of supporters can donate their loose change at the physical kettle or donate online on your team fundraising website.”
The Salvation Army is looking for more schools in Indiana to participate. Contact Lt. Horsman at candace.horsman@use.salvationarmy.org to sign up and to create a team fundraising page for your school.
Participants will compete with other local schools to see who can raise the most money for families and individuals in need, with all proceeds supporting this year’s Red Kettle Campaign. All donations remain in the local community. So far, participating schools include Indiana Area, Penns Manor, Purchase Line, and United High Schools.
