(MEADVILLE, PA) July 14, 2021 – The Salvation Army Meadville Worship and Service Center has received a $40,000 grant from Armstrong which will support critical services in the local community, focusing on emergency feeding, youth programming, and Christmas assistance.
The grant will directly support The Salvation Army Meadville Worship and Service Center’s Love in a Backpack program, which provides children in need with healthy and delicious food options over the weekend. The grant will also help to support The Salvation Army’s food pantry, which supplies an average of 60 food boxes per month for local families. The grant will also support the distribution of back-to-school supplies, day camp programs, Christmas assistance, and men’s and women’s ministries.
“The Salvation Army is incredibly grateful to Armstrong for this generous donation that will directly support our local community,” said Captain Michelle Miller, Commanding Officer, The Salvation Army Meadville Worship and Service Center. “Our ability to raise funds over the past year has been greatly challenged due to the pandemic, so all gifts now matter more than ever. Armstrong is a loyal supporter of our services and their continued gifts will have a direct impact on families and individuals in need in our communities.”
