The Salvation Army Monessen Worship and Service Center Holds College Survival Kit Distributions Supporting Local Students
MONESSEN, PA (March 10, 2021) – Just about everyone knows the essentials of college life: a grab-and-go breakfast, easy-to-make pasta dinners, and in today’s world - a supply of hand sanitizer.
The Salvation Army Monessen Worship and Service Center is now providing a monthly distribution of College Survival Kits, containing boxed pasta, pasta sauce, tuna, soup, canned fruit, breakfast bars, cereal, hand soap, hand sanitizer, produce and fruit as available, along with a $10 gift card to Foodland.
The College Survival Kits are available every first Thursday of the month from noon to 5 p.m. at The Salvation Army Monessen Worship and Service Center, located at 308 Schoonmaker Ave., Monessen, PA.
“We are grateful for a $10,000 donation from Cleveland-Cliffs that allows us to better support our local students who are working hard to better themselves and their futures through pursuing a college education,” said Captain Susan Thwaite, Commanding Officer at The Salvation Army Monessen Worship and Service Center. “We hope the College Survival Kits bring some comfort to our college students, letting them know that we are here for them and we are cheering them on!”
Any secondary college student in the Monessen area is available to receive the College Survival Kit. Participants must show their student I.D. upon arrival. For more information, contact Apryl Kadish at 724-684-4282 from Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
