May 2, 2022

PITTSBURGH (May 9, 2022) – The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division has named Nicole Harrell as the division’s new Marketing and Public Relations Director. Harrell will serve as the media contact and lead on all marketing initiatives. She brings more than a decade of experience in PR and marketing to the role.

Harrell has recently relocated to the area from the eastern part of the state where she served as Director of Communications for ArtsQuest, the arts and cultural nonprofit best known for Musikfest, the nation’s largest free music festival and Christkindlmarkt, one of the country’s top holiday markets. Previously, she led digital marketing, public relations and promotions for the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania’s PBS station. Prior to that role, Harrell was the Marketing & Communications Manager for Visit Bucks County, the nonprofit tourism agency for Bucks County, Pa. Before relocating to Pennsylvania, she was the first Digital Marketing Manager for WAVE 3 News, the NBC affiliate in Louisville, Ky. In this role she spearheaded the digital marketing strategy for Raycom Media (now Gray Television), one of the nation’s largest media companies. Harrell has also taken on a variety of roles in the news, production and sports departments for Louisville’s ABC affiliate, as well as television and radio stations in Lexington, Ky.

“I am honored to join this mission-based organization with such a rich history giving back,” Harrell said. “I cannot think of a better way to get to know and serve this community I now call home.”

As The Salvation Army gears up for a summer full of community events and the holiday season of giving, please contact Harrell for interview requests and inquiries.
