(PITTSBURGH, PA) June 16, 2021 – The Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship and Service Center is inviting local teens to join its brand-new Airbrush Art Summer Squad – a free series of art classes instructed by Commanding Officer Lt. Tylar Melfi.

Teens will have the chance to explore their creative sides, make new friends, develop airbrush art skills and more! Classes will be held every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Thursday, July 8 and concluding Thursday, August 19.

The classes are free and open to all kids ages 13 to 16 years old. Participants must register at before July 8.

Lt. Melfi previously owned and operated an airbrush shop for 10 years before joining The Salvation Army as an officer.

“This is a great opportunity for kids to come together this summer, have fun, and develop new skills and expression through airbrush art,” Lt. Melfi said. “We are so excited to inspire even more creativity in the North Boroughs community.”

All sessions will take place at The Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship & Service Center at 327 S. Home Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202. Current COVID-19 protocols will be followed to ensure the health and safety of all attendees. For more information, email
