Since its inception, the WTAE-TV project Bundle-Up Online Auction has played a critical role in providing hundreds of thousands of NEW coats, hats, mittens and boots for children and seniors in need across Western Pennsylvania. Founded in 1986 by WTAE Channel 4 and The Salvation Army, project Bundle-Up has raised more than 15 million dollars and served more than 290,000 children and seniors in need with new winter outerwear. The online auction is one of the primary ways that The Salvation Army and WTAE’s project Bundle-Up raises funds.
Celebrating over 150 years of global service as both a church and a social service organization, The Salvation Army began in London, England in 1865.
