WTAE Channel 4 to Air 35th Annual WTAE-TV Project Bundle-Up Telethon Friday, December 4th
(Pittsburgh, PA. December 1, 2020) – WTAE Channel 4 launches its 35TH year of community service to area children and senior citizens with the WTAE-TV project Bundle-Up Telethon Friday, December 4th.
Beginning at 5:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, the telethon led by Pittsburgh’s Action Weather Chief Meteorologist Mike Harvey, Chairman of WTAE’s project Bundle-Up will be broadcast during segments of newscasts and breaks throughout regularly scheduled programming ending at 8:00 p.m.
“This year has been extremely difficult, especially for our neighbors desperately trying to make ends meet. The approaching winter will create more challenges,” said WTAE President & General Manager, Charles W. Wolfertz III. “When Pittsburghers donate to project Bundle-Up, they will make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors. This year it’s much more than a coat you will give; your generosity will bring comfort and peace of mind.”
“We are very blessed to be in a position to help our neighbors,” said Major Raphael Jackson, Divisional Commander of the Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division. “Our long-standing partnership with WTAE Channel 4 has raised over $15.5 million and helped more than 290,000 kids and senior citizens stay warm every winter. It’s a testament to the difference a good, caring community can make.”
Viewers can make their donations by calling 855-660-ARMY throughout the day ending at 8:00 p.m. Viewers can also text “BUNDLEUP” to 41444 to donate any amount. Viewers can also visit WTAE.com or our mobile app to make a secure donation.
