The Salvation Army to Benefit from Donations at Participating Shell Gas Stations 9/1-9/7

Aug 31, 2020 | by Stephanie Rex

Monday, August 31, 2020 (Aliquippa, Pa.) Shell Polymers, local Shell gas stations, and Center Independent Energy are partnering with The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and The Salvation Army Aliquippa Worship and Service Center September 1 through 7 during a benefit that will support these service-centered nonprofit organizations.

Between September 1 and 7, 15 cents per gallon on all fuel purchases at participating stations will be donated to Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and The Salvation Army Aliquippa Worship and Service Center.

This collective donation will help the organizations fuel local neighbors by providing them with food, supplies and other essentials that families and individuals need as we continue to live through the COVID-19 pandemic and its many impacts. The need is great, and this is one way people can help!

The participating gas stations in Pittsburgh include:

  • Friend’s Service, 5735 Baum Blvd in East Liberty
  • Uptown Express, 1605 Fifth Avenue in the Hill District
  • Marshall’s, 1520 Spring Garden Avenue, Spring Hill

Beaver County locations Include:

  • Brodhead Car Wash, 1500 Old Brodhead Road, Monaca
  • Fast Eddie’s Too, 953 State Route 18, Raccoon Township
  • Sunrise Shell, 158 Kennedy Blvd., Aliquippa

A program kickoff will take place at 10 a.m., September 1 at the Broadhead location in Monaca and again at 2 p.m. at Friend’s Services on Baum Blvd. Representatives from the sponsors of the program, as well as leadership of the Urban League and The Salvation Army will be in attendance.
