The Salvation Army Somerset Service Center Hosts Spring EGGStravaganza, Supporting Local Families and Individuals In Need

SOMERSET, PA (March 18, 2021) – The Salvation Army Somerset Service Center is ready to kick off its Spring EGGStravaganza, a fundraiser that aims to lift spirits, raise money for families in need, and let the community know: Hope Grows Here.

For a $50 donation, participants can support the local Salvation Army while having their yard – or a friend, business, or family’s yard – “egged” for a span of two days during the Easter season. After donating, The Salvation Army Somerset staff members will place stacked, decorative Easter eggs on stakes throughout the identified yard, with a sign that states, “Hope Grows Here,” with info about The Salvation Army. After two days, the eggs will be taken down and moved to the next yard.

All funds raised will remain in the local community, supporting Somerset residents with emergency food assistance, utility and rental assistance, youth and senior programming, and more.

“This is a chance for our whole community to come together and to enjoy spring, a true season of hope and renewal,” said Gale Purbaugh, director of The Salvation Army Somerset Service Center. “This fundraiser will continue to support our work in helping our neighbors in need, but in addition, it gives us a chance to lift spirits across different neighborhoods, springing into hope together!”

Don’t delay! Spaces are limited to “egg” your family, friends, or local businesses. Visit www.salvationarmywpa.org/HopeGrowsHere to make a donation and to “egg” your favorite homeowner!
