(SOMERSET, PA) July 23, 2021 – The Salvation Army Somerset Service Center is raising funds to keep local struggling families and children warm throughout the cold winter months during “A Community Thrives,” an online fundraising event held by Gannett Publishing and USA Today.

Donations raised for The Salvation Army Somerset through “A Community Thrives” will stay in the local community, supporting Operation Warm Hearts, a program used for Somerset County residents in need of additional help to heat their homes in the cold winter months. Our emergency assistance program provides all types of heating fuels for those who are without heat and struggling to manage high utility bills.

Those who wish to donate should click here and make a contribution of any amount before August 13, 2021: https://acommunitythrives.mightycause.com/organization/The-Salvation-Army-18

The Salvation Army Somerset Service Center provides free programs and social services to lower-income residents in 41 Somerset County communities. In addition, we offer support through holiday assistance for entire families, and rental, mortgage, and utility assistance.
