The Salvation Army Holds Superhero-Themed Fundraising Event
WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 22, 2022) – The Washington Salvation Army invites the community to the Third Annual Superhero Drive-Thru experience on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Cars will be welcomed to drive through between 1 – 3 p.m. Families can meet and take pictures with costumed Superheroes and Princesses along the scenic trail of Camp Agape in Hickory, Pa. Donations collected from the annual event will help fund back-to-school efforts.
“Sometimes in life we need a hero to save the day,” Captain Amber Imhoff, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army Washington Worship and Service Center said. “For many families in our community, the rising costs of everyday essentials has them looking for hope. Donations raised at the Superhero Drive-Thru do just that. The day is full of fun with your favorite Superheroes and Princesses, as well as some local heroes. A day of fun with your family can help other families have an amazing school year.”
Proceeds will fund back-to-school ‘CARnivals’ that provide backpacks and school supplies for hundreds of children in the area. Funds will also benefit the Washington Salvation Army’s Best Foot Forward effort, which provides new shoes for school-aged children. In addition, donations will help The Washington Salvation Army deliver teacher supply boxes to ten area schools.
Donations can be mailed, shipped, or dropped off in advance at The Salvation Army Washington Worship and Service Center, 60 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301. You can also give online by visiting, salvationarmywpa.org/superhero.
The Washington Salvation Army would thank to thank community sponsors Capital Closings LLC, Washington Financial, GBU Life, Chrome Federal Credit Union, Dunkin’ Donuts, West Tire & Auto Center and Crossgates LLC.
