The Salvation Army Hosts Back-to-School Bash for South Hills Students
The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center invites the community to a Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 5, 2023. The annual event, presented by First National Bank, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation, will provide hundreds of backpacks, school supplies, gently used clothing/shoes and more to local families. The bash will kick off at 10 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center located on McNeilly Road.
“A new school year should be an exciting time for students,” Major Justin Caldwell, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, said. “Yet, for many families in the South Hills and beyond, the stress of not having the supplies they need can be a burden. We are grateful for the continued partnership and generosity of First National Bank for helping us set students up for success.”
Registration is required in advance by calling 412-207-2127 (deadline Friday, July 28). Students must be present on the day of the event. Haircuts for students will be available onsite along with food and fun family activities, including a bounce house. “We are proud to once again partner with The Salvation Army and to give back to our neighbors in need,” said Brent Semachko, Director of Corporate Responsibility. “Supporting our community is essential to FNB’s mission and we are confident this event will continue to have a positive impact on the lives of students throughout the new school year.”
