The Salvation Army Uniontown Worship and Service Center Hosts Virtual May Day 5K Run
PITTSBURGH, PA (April 8, 2021) – The Salvation Army Uniontown Worship and Service Center is hosting a Virtual May Day 5K Run open to the whole community.
Kick off the spring season with a 5K run, all while raising funds for a good cause. All funds raised remain in the local community, supporting emergency food assistance, utility and rental assistance, youth and senior programming, and more.
Registration is $20 per person. Participants should complete their 5K run between May 1 and May 8, and then submit their time to Captain Danielle Hopping at Danielle.hopping@use.salvationarmy.org.
“This is a chance for the community to get outside, get active, and raise funds for a good cause,” Captain Hopping said. “We look forward to seeing families and friends get together safely outdoors while joining our Virtual May Day 5K, celebrating spring and the fact that we are truly better together.”
Participants’ names and times will be included in an ad that will appear in The Herald Standard after the virtual race is complete.
“We want the community to know that need knows no season, and their support of The Salvation Army is critical all year long,” said Captain Erin Rischawy. “This is a fun way for all of us to come together to support our neighbors in need while still being socially distant.”
