WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up Online Auction Goes Live in March

Feb 26, 2025

PITTSBURGH (February 27, 2025) – Bid, buy, and bundle them up by participating in WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up Annual Online Auction beginning Friday, March 14 through Friday, April 4, 2025. All proceeds from this auction will help The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division and WTAE-TV provide new winter outerwear to children and seniors across Western Pennsylvania. Starting Friday, March 14, visit projectbundleup.org or wtae.com and follow the prompts to check out more than 300 unique items and packages up for grabs through the digital auction platform.

“The annual auction has served as one of the largest sources of income for WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up since the inception of the program,” Victoria Gill, Director of WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up said. “Since moving online, the convenient digital platform now makes giving even easier. Every bid and every donation helps provide new winter gear to vulnerable members of our community.”

The annual auction will be packed with more than 300 must-have items and unforgettable experiences. New items will be posted every Friday at noon throughout the span of the online auction! Score one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia, like a Sidney Crosby-signed Penguins jersey and an autographed Steelers helmet. Indulge in unique experiences, including gift certificates to top local restaurants, attractions, golf courses and resorts. Plus, bid on tech gear and home goods, such as a KitchenAid mixer, Roomba vacuum, and Beats wireless earbuds. All items and experiences are generously donated by sponsors, organizations, and individuals. A special thanks to our major event sponsors KeyBankTarget, and UPMC.

“Our work would not be possible without the generosity of our amazing viewers,” Charles W. Wolfertz III, President & General Manager of WTAE Channel 4 said. “We are proud to continue our partnership with The Salvation Army to make sure children and seniors will be able to face Western Pennsylvania’s harsh winters with dignity and warmth.”
For the past 39 years, WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up, in partnership with The Salvation Army, has been dedicated to raising funds to provide brand new winter outerwear—coats, hats, gloves, boots and scarves for children and adults over the age of 62 from across 28-counties in Western Pennsylvania.

The online auction is one of the primary ways WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up raises funds annually. Since 1986, WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up has raised more than $17.5 million and provided new winter outerwear for nearly 310,000 individuals. For many recipients, choosing their own winter outerwear is a memorable and empowering experience, often their first opportunity to select something new for themselves.
