Everyday, The Salvation Army helps to alleviate hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

According to the USDA, more than 38 million people in the United States are food insecure. The pandemic has increased food insecurity among families with children, with nearly 12 million children facing hunger.
Emergency Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, and other feeding initiatives are offered through our Corps Community Centers to help those facing food insecurity for themselves and their families.
The Salvation Army’s approach to feeding the hungry is formed based on the local needs of each community we serve
Those in need across the state of Pennsylvania and Delaware can receive nutritious, hot meals or groceries from their nearest Salvation Army Corps Community Center
We provide food for thousands daily, including the most vulnerable of our communities—underserved children in our after-school programs, the elderly at our Adult Day Centers, forgotten friends at our homeless shelters, people looking to better their lives at our addiction recovery facilities, survivors rebuilding their lives after a disaster, and domestic violence/anti-human trafficking victims.
The Salvation Army food pantries provide groceries for families and individuals in need. Food is always free, but some locations require appointments while others operate on a walk-in, first come first served basis. Call your local Salvation Army office to determine which days our food pantries serve your area.
No one should ever go a day without a meal or feel ashamed about asking for help accessing food. That’s why many of our locations provide hot meals and free groceries year-round to anyone who needs them. For home-bound seniors, some areas even offer grocery delivery services.
Contact the location near you to learn when meals are offered or which pantry serves your area. You may need an appointment for groceries, depending on the location.
