Sussex County Rent/Mortgage Assistance

Calls for rent/mortgage assistance are taken Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Calls are taken on a first come, first served basis according to funding availability.

Clients must have some source of income and must be able to show their ability to maintain.

Rental Assistance: If a client has an open case with DHSS, they may not qualify for our services as we share funding (Needy Family Funds) with DHSS. In this case, the client must call their local state service center for assistance.

Sussex County Utlity Assistance

Calls for utility assistance are taken Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Calls are taken on a first come, first served basis according to funding availability.

Utility assistance can include electric, gas, oil (winter only), propane (cooking only) or water.

Clients must be in danger of disconnection of service or have a past due balance.

(Optional, but Reservations Required)

6:15 PM –Workshops
Dinner is not required to attend the workshops.
Parents/Guardians and children have separate workshops.
The adult sessions focus on addiction prevention.
Childcare is not provided.

Clients need a valid Delaware ID or proof of Delaware Residency for each adult in the household. For children, a birth certificate or insurance card is needed.
